6 hours of Captain Beefheart: music, interviews and other memorial mayhem presented by an intrepid team of KFJC staff, listeners and veterans
Peel vs. Beefheart: And the winner is...We, The Listeners. As he did with so many artists, John Peel was the first to play and champion
Captain Beefheart to an unsuspecting British public, so here's the attempt by a then-young and impressionable English lad to bring some perspective
to the shockwaves this life-changing event caused around the sleepy shores of Great Britain. Terry Tyke (who was once a young and
impressionable English lad) will present the UK perspective on Captain Beefheart from 6-9 p.m.
Turning on the Electricity: Captain Beefheart's original Magic Band formed in 1965 and their first single became a regional hit. Television
and teen concert appearances followed, and that could very well be the pinnacle of their career, as far as popular tastes are concerned. Bravely,
they took another path... one which eventually led to Trout Mask Replica. Art Crimes and long-time Magic Band member John "Drumbo"
French follow the baby steps of the Magic Band from 9-12 p.m
