The primal aesthetic of "2 guitars, bass, and drums" still holds sway with the great majority of most rock outfits. However, what to do when the abilities (and/or egos) of both guitarists threaten the treasured dynamic of rhythm + lead? Result: Two lead guitarists!

We shall examine, celebrate, and quite literally dissect (through the magic of stereo separation) the double lead guitar throughout the Rock Era. Harmony, interplay, trade-offs, call & response, counter punching, and the elusive (but glorious) simultaneous solo will all be experienced anew. From primitive proto-punk and psychedelia, through the time honored twin leads of classic 70's FM rock, to poly-rhythmic post rock and experimental noise, no double axis of axes will be off limits.
