Moritz von Oswald began his career with 80s electro-pop group Palais Schaumberg, but levered himself into a position as a major techno innovator with his 2MB/3MB collaborations with Thomas Fehlmann and Detroit icons Juan Atkins and Eddie Fowlkes. From there, he was a major influence on the direction of techno music with projects like the Basic Channel and Chain Reaction label, the mysterious "Maurizio" series and dub projects like Main Street and the "Round" series, as well as live techno improv with the Moritz von Oswald Trio.
