Monday Mayhem 4 10AM-2PM
Hosted by Sally Goodin

Yodeling is a vocal technique used in many cultures worldwide. It was brought to the United States by German immigrants in the early 1800s. By the 1840s many of the traveling minstrel shows featured yodeling, and it remained a popular form of entertainment on the vaudeville circuit. When Jimmie Rodgers released Blue Yodel #1 (T For Texas) in 1928, it created a national craze, and yodeling was an obligatory part of country music in the 1930s and 40s. This program features yodeling from the past to the present.
