Underrated genius songwriter from New Zealand, Bill Direen haas inspired Roy Montgomery, Chris Knox, Peter jefferies, David Kilgour, Michael Morley and many artists outside of his homeland. It is time to give the Kiwi his due... 4 hours of his music interrupted only by short bits of his bio and comments from the artists listed above. The focus will be on the early bands known generally as the Bilders. Direen is now living in Paris, writing music, plays and poetry. An interview with the legendary NZ music figure is a possibility, his schedule permitting. He played KFJC in 1995 and a rebroadcast of this performance is planned.
