Kyoto based Rei Harakami had a relatively short career, passing away suddenly in 2011 just shy of his 40th birthday. He started out in 1997 doing straightforward techno, but soon developed a playful, idiosyncratic style with extensive use of panning and pitch bending and abandoning standard rhythmic underpinning. We will be looking at his limited but rich discography.
