Female Takeover After-Party

Wednesday, March 8 10:00pm — Thursday, April 6 10:00am

In celebration of Women's History Month and International Women's Day (March 8), the women of KFJC will take over the airwaves for more than two full days of programming focused entirely on female artists. "Female Takeover" will include a broad range of the amazing work and contributions by women across many genres. It officially runs from Monday, 3/6 at 7pm through 10pm on Wednesday, 3/8 (see schedule).

Following "Female Takeover," KFJC DJs and hosts (of any gender) will extend the celebration with an "After Party," (starting on 3/8 at 10pm) continuing to highlight female artists, as well as public affairs programming featuring women.

Despite women's incredible contributions to every genre of music, their work is still underrepresented on the radio, including at KFJC. Female Takeover is an opportunity for KFJC DJs to tip the balance, help to dispel myths and stereotypes about women in music, and amplify the work of female artists in genres where they are especially underrepresented.
