Weather Report is considered one of the preeminent jazz fusion bands. They incorporated elements of rock, R&B, funk, electronic music, free jazz and native music from around the world. Weather Report took the unusual approach of abandoning the traditional "soloist/accompaniment" structure of straight-ahead jazz and featured opportunities for continuous improvisation by every member of the band.
