For this week's edition of the "Thoughtline," Robert Emmett presents a special interview about musician/composer Ethel Smith as part of the "Female Takeover After-Party." Geoff Alexander did some groundbreaking research on musician Ethel Smith. She was a master on the B3 Hammond organ and was featured in several movies in the 1940s. She created, and recorded, a number of organ arrangements for popular music. Her personal life is largely unknown because she went out of her way to protect her privacy. Geoff Alexander talks about what he did find and you'll hear some of her remarkable music.
